Our mineral foundation line has been famous in Alaska since 2006; utilizing only four organic ingredients made for ultra-sensitive skin. You may have seen us at a Holiday Show, Women's Event in Anchorage and Fairbanks or at the Alaska State Fair. Visit our new studio to see our popular line of mineral based eyeshadows, blushes, jojoba lipglosses, eyeliners that don't budge, silicone concealers and more!
Our new studio offers unique waxing products such as organic Adam & Eve Wax, Cirepil Wax, and the all natural Whish after-wax products.
We pride ourselves in offering skin care products for our clients that are inexpensive, actually work and love offering alternative vegan choices for our vegetarian friends. We give you an option of using the 100% Pure Skin Care line for all natural facials and carry a variety of their retail products. We also use and carry the PCA Skin care line which offers fantastic treatments and chemical peels formulated for all skin types. PCA Skin is one of the leading advanced clinical skin care lines on the market, available for use at COR both professionally and for sale. There is no animal testing in ANY of our products.
Customer service is our thing! At COR we all agree your entire studio experience should be fabulous! You may notice we work at a little faster pace than most Esthetic studios you've seen before, we all go by the motto... “Its not Relaxing, its Waxing!”
COR stands for for Cosmetics-On-Request.. the word COR also means color in the language of Portuguese.
About our service providers...
We have a team of licensed, experienced Estheticians that have been in Alaska for many years! The COR team of service providers came together from various spas in Anchorage to offer the best of the best in our industry! We excel in customer service and each have a specialty to offer from waxing to peels to eyelash extensions! We are all proud to have the freedom of keeping your costs down with multiple service discounts and not making our favorite clients have to pay for parking or take a long walk to see us!
Amber Brophy-Mock is the owner of COR Wax, Lash & Cosmetic's Boutique and is a licensed Esthetician Instructor in Alaska with over a decade of experience in makeup and the spa industry. Amber is a a state trainer for the Look Good Feel Better Program sponsored by the National Cosmetology Association and American Cancer Society. Amber started C.O.R Cosmetics in 2006 with the intention of creating a line and working with chemists to use ingredients that won't harm your skin yet will also look fantastic in photography. She received her chemical peel certificate from PCA Skin and Cry Baby Mascara and specializes in Wedding Makeup.
Amber was voted "Alaska's Best Wedding Makeup Artist" in by the National "Bride Magazine", and has been interviewed by "CosmoGirl Magazine" and the "National Cosmetology Association" monthly publication. Amber did makeup for the cover shot for "Alaska Bride" in 2010 and has done makeup for various commercials, national TV shows and on major motion picture sets Check out our portfolio and resume links to see a list and photos of our work!
Kendall Brophy
Kendall Brophy is the manager and event coordinator for COR, organizing all of the Wedding, Event and Show bookings we participate in. Kendall has worked in the spa industry for 9 years and if you have been to a trade show in Anchorage, Fairbanks or at the Alaska State Fair you have probably met Kendall as she has sold makeup at the shows since 2007.
Julie Brophy
Julie Brophy is a licensed Esthetician and Lash Specialist at COR. Julie is one of 3 people listed and certified by Xtreme Lashes in Alaska and is certified in PCA Skin and Crybaby Mascara. Xtreme Lashes has an exclusive training program and stringent standards to maintain a listing on their site, to remain certified Julie along with COR has to go above and beyond the initial training requirements ensuring safety and satisfaction. Julie has done eyelash extensions for Brides, actresses, politicians, pageant girls and is the proud sponsor of Iditarod Musher DeeDee Jonrowe. Julie is also our top seller of our makeup products at the tradeshows and events and a volunteer with the Look Good Feel Better Program.
Kateland Burke
Kateland Burke had been a licensed Esthetician in Alaska for 4 years. She trained in AK and has continued her education by receiving certification in advanced treatments such as PCA Skin chemical Peels and microdermabrasion. Kateland provides waxing, facials, peels, and chemical peel services and likes to do more fun, artistic and dramatic makeup applications.
Shannon Griner
Shannon Griner has been our front desk and spa support woman since we opened our new location in May 2011. Shannon is a student at UAA and will be an English teacher.
Mikayla Lyman
Mikayla Lyman has been a licensed Esthetician for almost 7 years and has specialized in makeup with COR for the past 4 years. Mikayla is certified in PCA Skin advanced skin and chemical peel protocols. she also provides waxing services. Mikayla has worked with many Brides in Anchorage and feels makeup brings out her creative side, she loves everything from simple soft makeup to extreme runway makeup. Mikayla has volunteered to do makeup for various charity events, volunteers with the Look Good Feel Better program and is currently advancing her Education at UAA working towards a degree in radiology.
Tanya Miller
Tanya Miller is a licensed Esthetician and been working in the spa industry for 10 years, First in customer service, then as a nail specialist and now for the past 5 years an Esthetician. Tanya specializes in waxing and is certified in PCA Skin advanced skin and chemical peel protocols. After nine years with a previous Spa Tanya has joined the COR team and has been expanding her creativity with make up.
Shelah Slade
Shelah Slade is a licensed Esthetician, Make-up Artist and Xtreme Lash Specialist. Shelah is PCA Skin certified in advance skincare techniques and chemical peels and participated in the Xtreme Lashes training program. She has done eyelashes on pageant candidates, bodybuilders, politicians, models, brides and more. Shelah prides herself in making Women feel good about themselves and has volunteered to do makeup for various charity events and also volunteers with the Look Good Feel Better program in Alaska.
